Know your Risk Group

Working in a Microbiology laboratory includes exposure to different agents with different hazard levels.

It is important to be aware of the threats in order to know how to be protected and ensure safety.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) organized a Risk Group based on threat or risk involved for laboratory samples or specimen being handled inside the laboratory.

For each Risk Group, Esco have a Biological Safety Cabinet suitable to provide the safety and protection needed. Esco’s line of Biological Safety Cabinets passed more performance tests for certifications throughout more countries than any other biosafety cabinet in the world.

A lot of milestones in science came from discoveries and developments inside a Microbiology laboratory.

Life-saving innovations can be in exchange of life threatening hazards microbiologists are exposed to.

Be aware of the risks and get protected. Knowledge and awareness can lead you in choosing the right protection for you and your laboratory.
